Job Type: Six Month contract (W2 employee) starting October 1, 2025 until April 1, 2026; opportunity to extend to permanent Executive Director Position based on performance and board evaluation
Pay: $9300/month; $100/m stipend for phone/tech bill. Total compensation: $9,400/month

Location: Portland: Neighbors Welcome is a hybrid work environment. Staff will have access to a co-working space that is shared with mission-aligned orgs, and may also work from home on a flexible basis. Portland: Neighbors Welcome is also a membership-driven, events based organization that will host events out in the Portland community.

Portland: Neighbors Welcome is a 501(c)(4) organization that is governed by a 10-member board of directors, elected by organization membership for two year terms. As an Executive Director, you will:
Work with Board to ensure P:NW has a strategic plan and direction that furthers our mission, vision, and goals while working within our values
Ensure organizational infrastructure meets organizational needs in partnership with the board
Including volunteer support resources, legal compliance, employee and contractor hiring and management, performance tracking on policy goals, and others as needed
Manage contractors and team members
Lead fundraising initiatives and grant writing efforts
Work with Board to create vision-aligned budget
Reinforce Portland-focused advocacy
Including supporting volunteers, recruiting, and tracking
Collaborate with volunteers across the organization to create and implement future plans
Build and foster relationships with other mission-aligned organizations in collaboration with volunteers
Create and implement fundraising campaign alongside volunteers
Plan events in coordination with volunteers
Ensure compliance with all local and national regulations and bylaws alongside Board Chair
Identify and champion opportunities for streamlining and improvement of technology, including integration across applications and workstream efficiencies
Lead expansion of mission of organization by building out Grow and develop Portland: Neighbors Welcome’s newly formally established sister 501(c)(3) organization, Growing Affordable Portland.
Attributes for Success:
Experience working in collaboration with volunteers
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of financial management principles, budgeting, and accounting.
Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans, as well as measuring outcomes.
Experience in fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with staff, volunteers, board members, and community members.
Experience in managing staff and operations.
